Drum Room CurrentlyI am very excited about my upcoming work on my home studio to reduce sound transmission out of the room. It isn’t terrible but I like to play at night and some sounds do carry. We are planning to remove the current paneling, insulation and in-wall a/c unit (I think alot of sound is escaping there). We are then going to add ROXUL SAFE’n’SOUND® insulation to the inside of the walls. Then add a resilient channel perpendicular to the studs and add a layer of sheet rock. After that we will use Green Glue® to affix a second layer of sheetrock to the first for an extra boost of suppression.

The only downside is the studio will be down for a bout a week but I plan to kick off the new year doing some excellent recording work.

I will post before and after pics and sound samples through the project.
