I slotted in another song to record the drum tracks and played along to it the first time last weekend. It is pretty cool, somewhat intricate and will take a bit of practice to get it creatively where I want the drumming. I have time to work on it at my leisure and should be able to do the full recording very soon.
Here is a small sample of how a test track sounds when I share it with the musician as a stereo track to gauge if my style, quality and ideas are acceptable. The final mixing is up to the artist and I deliver whatever individual tracks they need, with our without any compression, EQ or other treatments.

To some the drum track by itself may seem tedious and repetitive but when blended with the music it is a wonderful thing. I hope to expand upon that here by creating works using the drum set as a melodic instrument of composition. Something I see as very challenging yet incredibly exciting.
