Ok, things are getting back on track, I am starting packing up of equipment and the tear down of the walls this weekend. Dang cold going around and hitting everyone has delayed me a few days, my contractor included.
Here are a few shots for posterity to show the before layout of the room. This room has served as an apartment over the years as well as a photo lab for my uncle. It has been my studio for many years but now it is getting ramped up to do some serious work. Looking forward to the final product and the sound reduction for my neighborhood.
I discussed upgrade a bit here in an earlier post. Main things will be new insulation, resilient channel to decouple the sheet rock from the studs, two sheets of sheet rock separated by a layer of green glue. I am also deleting the the gaping hole where the ac is and adding a small central air unit to keep it cool in the summer. I am looking forward to the end result and am excited to start doing recordings soon.
